Hua-Khao-Yen-Tai (Dioscorea membranacea Pierre) have been commonly used among ingredients in Thai traditional anticancer preparations. The rhizome of D. membranacea was found potently cytotoxic and possibly contributed to such a therapeutic effect [1]. Bioassay-guided isolation was used for discovery a selective novel cytotoxic compound, dioscorealides B [2]. In this study, we aimed to determine the stability of dioscorealide B content [3] by HPLC method from ethanol extract under accelerated condition 45, 60, 70 and 80°C, 75% RH and also tested cytotoxic activity of the ethanolic extract of Dioscorea membranacea Pierre against breast human cancer cell line [MCF-7] was also determined. The results of stability of dioscorealide B from the ethanolic extract under heat-accelerated conditions, 45, 60, 70, 80°C, 75% RH for 1 month, also caused dioscorealide B remaining in the end of the exposure time decrease significant, 84.87±1.89, 61.16±3.72, 42.72±0.92 and 22.97±2.35%, respectively. Even though, the cytotoxic activity against MCF-7 of all samples of every condition were not changed significantly.
