Zusammenfassung
Folgende Besonderheiten der Ossifikation des Brustbeins werden beschrieben:
1. Apophysen an der Incisura clavicularis.
2. Apophysen an den Incisurae costales.
3. Kleiner Ossifikationsdefekt am Seitenrand des Manubriums.
4. Prämature Synostose bzw. verminderte Segmentierung des Sternums mit resultierender,
abnormer Kürze. Der Einfluß eines solchen Sternums auf die Thorax- und Wirbelsäulenform
wird dargelegt.
Summary
The following peculiarities in the ossification of the sternum are described: 1. Apophyses
at the junction with the clavicle, 2. Apophyses at the costal junctions, 3. Small
defects of ossification at the margin of the manubrium, 4. Premature synostosis and
reduced segmentation of the sternum resulting in a reduction of its length. The affect
of such a sternum on the shape of the thorax and vertebral column is described.

Description des variétés suivantes de l'ossification du sternum: 1. apophyses de la
facette claviculaire; 2. apophyses de l'échancrure costale; 3. trouble de l'ossification
au bord latéral du sternum et 4. synostose prématurée ou segmentation réduite du sternum
déterminant un sternum anormalement court. Etude de l'influence d'un tel sternum sur
la forme du thorax et de la colonne vertébrale.
Resumen
Se describen las siguientes particularidades de la osificación del esternón: 1. Apófisis
en la incisura clavicularis. 2. Apófisis en las incisuras costales. 3. Pequeño defecto
de osificación en el borde del manubrio. 4. Sinóstosis prematura o bien segmentación
del esternón, resultando éste anormalmente corto. Se comenta la influencia de un esternón
de este tipo sobre la forma del tórax y de la columna vertebral.
