Significance

Prostaglandin E synthase-1 converts PGH2 into PGE2, a key step in the propagation of inflammatory stimuli. MK-7285, a selective inhibitor of PGES-1, is a candidate for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and pain.
