Significance

The tetracyclic oroidin alkaloid (-)-agelastatin A was isolated from the sponge Agelas dendromorpha. The natural product inhibits cancer cell growth and glycogen synthase kinase 3β. Noteworthy is the authors’ use of azides to effectively trans-diaminate a double bond (F → H).
