Constitutional versus Situational Prescription
Two cases of Nux vomicaPublication History
Publication Date:
25 August 2009 (online)
Summary
The homeopathic remedy Nux vomica is very well known in acute prescribing (Case 1) and often it doesn't matter what the constitutional remedy is: only Nux vomica will help in certain acute situations (Organon 6th edition, § 38). But when we want to prescribe it constitutionally (Case 2) we have a rather narrow picture about this remedy. Because of this limited image we easily forget that the high sensitivity of Nux vomica also concerns the mind.
Key words
Situational (acute) prescribing - Constitutional prescribing - Retention of urine - Hypothyreoidism - Ménière's disease - Gastralgia - Migraine - Nux vomica - Pulsatilla
