Summary
The reduced forms of the anthracene derivatives of Cascara bark can be separated by three systems of paper partition chromatography. Six of them were isolated by preparative paper chromatography. A preliminary ferric chloride treatment suggests that they are probably bianthrones, three of which may be heterobianthrones:
a heterobianthrone of chrysophanol and emodin with RF 0,71, a heterobianthrone of chrysophanol and aloe emodin with RF 0,60, a heterobianthrone of aloe emodin and emodin with RF 0,25.
Zusammenfassung
Die reduzierten Formen der Anthrazenderivate der Rinde von Rhamnus purshiana lassen sich mittels dreier Systeme papierchromatographisch trennen. Sechs der Derivate wurden durch präparative PC isoliert. Es handelt sich vermutlich um Bianthrone, darunter wahrscheinlich als Hetero–Bianthrone Chrysophanol und Emodin (RF 0,71), Chrysophanol und Aloe–Emodin (RF 0,60), Aloe–Emodin und Emodin (RF 0,25).
