Summary

The principal alkaloids of R. cumminsii roots are reserpine, rescinnamine and serpentine. The stems contain reserpine, serpentine and an unidentified strongly basic alkaloid. The highest yield of weakly basic alkaloids occurred in the thinner root bark, and reserpine was the main weakly basic alkaloid.

Zusammenfassung

In den Wurzeln von Rauwolfia cumminsii sind Reserpin, Serpentin und Rescinnamin die Hauptalkaloide. Letzteres ließ sich in der Stammrinde nicht nachweisen, dagegen ein anderes bisher nicht identifiziertes Alkaloid.
