Abstract

From the roots of Plumbago auriculata Lam. and P. zeylanica L., a substance with antibacterial activity was isolated, which was found to be identical with plumbagin. The presence of hydroplumbagin glucoside in the roots could not be demonstrated.

Aus den Wurzeln von Plumbago auriculata und P. zeylanica wurde eine antibakteriell wirksame Substanz isoliert, die mit Plumbagin identisch ist.
