Abstract

A TLC–spectrophotometric and spectrocolorimetric methods are proposed to assay sennoside A, B, C and D in senna leaves, pods and formulation. The method is based on quantitative elution of sennosides from silica gel G plates after separation. The method was successifully applied to estimate these constituents in formulations containing them.
