Abstract

Gibberellic acid (G. A.) at 25, 50, 15, 100 and 125 p.p.m. was applied to the seedlings of Ocimum sanctum at the time of transplanting to study their effect on the yield of herb, oil and quality of essential oil. G. A. at 100 p.p.m. gave significant increase in the yield and improved quality of oil. Although all the concentration of G. A. except 125 p.p.m. significantly increased the yield of oil and oil content, 100 p.p.m. was most effective in this regard.
