Suction-Palp, a New Aid for Pelviscopy

Summary

Complete inspection of the female lower pelvis during pelviscopy is only possible with the twin-entry technique. By the aid of the new Suction-Palp it is not only possible to dislocate organs but also to aspirate and elevate them. The suction power of the palp is strong enough to elevate Fallopian tubes, appendix etc. without lacerating their surface, e.g. the peritoneum. The following three functions are possible with the new instrument: 1. Palpation and dislocation of organs, 2. Suction and elevation of organs, 3. Aspiration of fluids from the pouch of Douglas.

Zusammenfassung

Eine vollständige Inspektion des weiblichen Beckens ist nur durch ein zweikanaliges Instrumentieren gewährleistet. Durch einen neuentwickelten Saugtaster lassen sich nicht nur Organe dislozieren, sondern auch ansaugen und hochheben. Die Saugkraft ist ausreichend, um die Tuben oder die Appendix hochzuheben, ohne deren peritonealen Überzug zu verletzen. Folgende drei Manöver lassen sich mit dem neuen Instrument durchführen: 1. Palpation und Dislokation von Organen, 2. Saugung und Anheben von Organen, 3. Aspiration von Flüssigkeitsansammlungen im Douglas.
