Summary
ERCP is now used as routine technique and has provided a useful tool for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in diseases of the biliary tract. Until now this examination has been performed throughout the world including Italy, using preferably an Olympus JF and JF B2 side-viewing duodenoscope. In addition to 727 ERCP and 55 papillotomies performed using this instrument we have also employed a convertible endoscope Machida PFSB 1200; this fiberscope, with which front and side views are possible, can be used in the study of the oesophagus, stomach, duodenum, cannulation of the papilla of Vater and papillotomy. The results obtained and advantages offered by this instrument will be discussed. Since this endoscope is not usually employed, at least in Europe, for these purposes, we considered it of interest to report on the 251 ERCP and 9 papillotomies including stone removal performed in our department with the Machida PFSB 1200.
Zusammenfassung
Die endoskopisch retrograde Cholangiopankreatikographie (ERCP) hat sich als diagnostisch und bei Gallenerkrankungen therapeutisch wichtiges Verfahren etablieren können. Bislang wurde diese Untersuchung vorwiegend mit den Olympus-Duodenoskopen JF und JFB2 durchgeführt. Auch wir haben diese Instrumente bei 727 ERCPs und 55 Papillotomien verwandt, darüber hinaus jedoch auch das Machida-Instrument PFSB 1200 mit Kippoptik. Dieses Instrument mit Vorausblick- und Seitblickmöglichkeit kann zu einer Untersuchung von Speiseröhre, Magen, Duodenum sowie einer Kanülierung der Vaterschen Papille und zu einer Papillotomie in einem Arbeitsgang eingesetzt werden. Die erzielten Ergebnisse und die Vorteile dieses Instruments werden diskutiert. Da dieses Instrument in Europa für die ERCP bislang kaum verwandt wurde, soll über die Ergebnisse bei 251 ERCPs und 9 Papillotomien einschließlich Steinextraktion berichtet werden.
