Summary

Erosive gastritis is a relativly common uncharacteristic stomach disease. Involvement of the stomach by Crohn's disease has been noted in 15 cases but gastroscopic appearance has been reported very rarely. A histologically proven case of gastric involvement is presented which showed multiple complete erosions on X-ray examination as well as on gastroscopy. The positive biopsy specimen which showed granulomatous lesions was taken from the elevated bulging border of the erosion. Possibly erosive gastritis is the precursor of the often seen contracted antrum in Crohn's disease of the stomach.
