Summary
1. The proposed imdirect bulboscopy by means of the standard type of gastroduodenal fiberscope (ACMI) rests on the observation of the bulbal cavity through the opening of the pyloric canal. The instrument lies in the distal part of the antrum.
2. The method is, compared with the direct duodenoscopy (Hirschowitz) a simple procedure. Pathological changes in the bulb can easily be seen especially in a case of duodenal ulcer.
3. The author by this method diagnosed 111 duodenal ulcers. From these 61 were formerly diagnosed by X-ray studies (55%), in 18 patients the X-ray findings were uncertain (16%) and in 32 patients the X-ray findings were completely negative (29%).
