Abstract
In this work phytochemical and pharmacological investigations were carried out on
Corallina rubens L. Cholesterol, vitamin B12 and agar content of this alga were determined by using various methods. The essential
oil obtained was shown to contain 1,8–cineol, terpineol and geraniol. Protein part
of C. rubens was fractionated and the fractions were examined with regard to their lipolytic and
hypoglycémie activities. Fraction I has lipolytic effect, ivhile Fraction III revealed
hypoglycémie activity.
