Abstract

In Ephedra helvetica C. A. Mey the following tannin producing substances could be detected: the flavane–3–ols (+)-catechine, (–)-epicatechine, (+)-gallocatechine, and (–)-epigallocatechine as well as the flavane–3–diols (+)-leucopelargonidine, leucocyanidine and leucodelphinidine. Gallotannins were not to be found. Consequently it is obvious, that the tannin of Ephedra belongs to the group of condensed tannins.

Zusammenfassung

Als Grundkörper der Gerbstoffe in Ephedra helvetica C. A. Mey. konnten die Flavan–3–ole (+)–Catechin, (–)–Epicatechin, (+)–Gallocatechin und (–)–Epigallocatechin sowie die Flavan–3,4–diole (+)–Leukopelargonidin, Leukocyanidin und Leukodelphinidin nachgewiesen werden. Hydrolysierbare Gerbstoffe wurden nicht gefunden. Der Ephedra–Gerbstoff dürfte demnach der Gruppe der kondensierten Gerbstoffe zuzuordnen sein.
