Abstract
The mucilage is formed from acide polysacch arides which can be separated into 3 macromolecular
substances during gelelectrophoresis, but still remain homogenous in case of gelfiltration.
The amylolytic enzymes disintegrate the mucilage only partially. After total hydrolysis
arabinose (31,43 %), xylose (10,60 %), rhamnose (15,0 %), galactose (21,35 %), and
D–galacturonic acide (21,44 %) were identified. Little amounts of glucose can also
be detected (TLC). The yield of mucilage was 9,8 %.
