Abstract

The petroleum ether extract of the herba of Artemisia annua yielded two hydrocarbons, a hydrocarbon ketone, a hydrocarbon alcohol and a triterpenic compound. By using UV, 1R, NMR spectral methods and analytical calculations as well as sample comparison, the compounds were found to be n-nonacosan, n-pentacosan, a C23 ketone, a C26 primary alcohol and β-amyrine acetate.
