Abstract

The histological characters of the rhizomes of Ephedra gerardiana Wall. var. wallichi Stapf, E. nebrodensis Tineo var. pro cera Stapf, E. intermedia Sehrenk & Meyer and E. pachyclada Boissier from Pakistan and Afghanistan, and Ma–Hnng–Gen from China are presented with the aim of finding the characters of these anatomical structures by which they could be identified and differentiated from each species.
