Abstract

Three methods of cell-disruption followed by extraction with petrolether were tested on the yeasts En do my cop si s vernalis and Torulopsis utilis in order to investigate the quantities of their lipids and their qualitative composition. Most of the lipids were extracted from Endomycopsis vernalis after lyophilisation followed by grinding the my eel with diatomaceous earth, from Torulopsis utilis after disrupting the cells with a glas bead cell-homogenisator.

The acid degree of the lipidextracts of the two yeasts was highest after cell-disruption with ultrasound but lowest after lyophilisation followed by grinding the mycel with diatomaceous earth. A high acid degree indicates a high degree of disruption of lipid compounds caused by the different celldisruption methods.
