Summary

In six patients the carotid artery had been temporarily completely or partially occluded. In all patients considerable decrease in the size of the aneurysm was noted. As even a partial thrombosis of an aneurysm is of value and a patent carotid artery may be preserved with this technique it is suggested that the technique may be of value in the treatment of certain arterial aneurysms of the internal carotid artery.
