Abstract

The isolated C-peptide part of the proinsulin molecule has been labelled with 125 I after attachment of one tyrosine residue to the N-terminal amino acid of the C-peptide.

The labelled derivative of the C-peptide reacts like the C-peptide itself with antibodies towards proinsulin and can therefore be used in the radioimmunoassay of C-peptide.
