Abstract
The effects of thyrocalcitonin (TCT) on the plasma ionic calcium in the monkey were investigated with a calciumsensitive electrode. It was observed that low dosages of TCT reduced only the total calcium whereas high dosages of TCT depressed both the total and ionic calcium levels. A possible hypothesis for this interesting finding has been suggested.
