Reversal Effect on Norepinephrine Induced Lipolysis in Isolated Perfused Rat Liver by a Beta Blocking Agent H 56/28 (Alloprenalol)

Abstract

Livers obtained from fed rat were perfused with blood from fasted rats with and without the addition of hyperlipemic serum, norepinephrine and a β-blocker (Alloprenalol). The addition of HLS to the perfusate produced a transient increase in FFA levels. Addition of NE alone did not change FFA values, meanwhile addition of NE plus HLS was followed by a sustained increase of FFA levels. Alloprenalol added to NE and HLS in the perfusate reversed the preceding effect.

According to our experience, NE stimulates liver lipolysis, and this effect is inhibited by the addition of a β blocker (Alloprenalol).
