Abstract

The effects of parathyroid hormone (PTH) on the calcium fractions of serum of rats were investigated. It was observed that parathyroidectomy (PTX) depressed the total, ionic, and protein-bound calcium whereas administration of PTH produced an increase in all these fractions.
