Zusammenfassung
Bei den ventrikulo-peritonealen Shuntmethoden zur Behandlung des Hydrozephalus beobachtet
man zuweilen eine Verlegung des distalen Katheterteiles durch Oment oder Zystbildung.
Es wird eine Methode beschrieben, den Katheter retrogastrisch zu plazieren und dort
zu fixieren, um die genannten Komplikationen zu umgehen. Preliminär wurden zwölf Patienten
nach der geschilderten Art operiert. Die postoperative Beobachtungszeit beträgt bisher
4 bis 8 Monate.
Summary
In the treatment of hydrocephalus by ventriculo-peritoneal shunts one sometimes sees
a blockage of the distal end of the catheter by omentum or by cyst formation.
A method is described of placing the catheter in the retrogastric space and fixing
it there so as to avoid the complications mentioned. In a preliminary trial twelve
patients have been treated in the manner described. They have been followed so far
for periods from 4–8 months.
Résumé
En usant de la méthode ventriculo-péritonéale dans le traitement de l'hydrocéphalie
on observe de temps en temps un déplacement de l'extrémité distale de la sonde par
l'épiploon et des formations kystiques. La méthode présentée consiste à introduire
la sonde en arrière de l'estomac et à l'y fixer pour éviter ces complications. 12
malades ont été opérés de cette façon. L'observation postopératoire est de 4 à 8 mois.

En el método del shunt ventrículo-peritoneal para el tratamiento del hidrocéfalo se
observa a veces un alargamiento de la parte distal del catéter debido a la formación
de quiste. Se describe un método en el que se coloca y se fija un catéter retrogástrico
con el fin de evitar las molestas complicaciones. 12 pacientes han sido operados en
principio con el método arriba descrito. El tiempo de observación postoperativa se
extendió desde 4 a 8 meses.
