Australian marine biodiscovery

This presentation describes new discoveries from our investigations into bioactive metabolites from Australian marine invertebrates and microbes, including the;

Acremolides [1]: a new class of lipodepsipeptides. This account also describes a parallel study that succeeded in optimizing and broadening application of the Marfey's method for amino acid analysis [2].

Reveromycins [3]: a rare class of polyketide spiroacetals with potential application in cancer, arthritis and osteoporosis, this study revealed new structures that underscored the chemistry and biology of reveromycins.

Trachycladindoles [4]: a new class of indolo-dihydroimidazoles, with selective activity against human cancer cell lines. Structural studies extended to consideration of conformational barriers, stability and SAR.
