As the health care delivery system has come under increasing scrutiny from consumers, quality assurance has emerged as the prime method for determining the efficacy of service delivery. Accordingly, several national organizations have emerged to credential health care organizations, practitioners, and their continuing professional education programs. Although audiology currently remains on the periphery, practice strategies should be implemented to respond to the requests of MCOs and other contractors. This article will discuss accrediting organizations that may have a direct influence on current and future practices.
