The Interesting Case
Unusual Vertical MCL Avulsion Fracture in an Osteoporotic Patient
Ungewöhnliche vertikale Avulsionsfraktur des medialen Kollateralbandes bei einer osteoporotischen Patientin
Introduction
MCL avulsion fractures are rare and typically occur in association with other ligamentous and meniscal injuries. The fracture configuration extending into the weight-bearing surface of the medial femoral condyle in this case is highly unusual and may be attributed to underlying osteoporosis. This case demonstrates the value of detailed imaging and highlights a rare fracture configuration that necessitates prompt recognition for optimal management.
