Alterstraumatologische Akutbehandlung

Abstract

Falls in elderly people are becoming increasingly important in acute and emergency medicine, also because of demographic change. Due to physiological conditions and comorbidities, the initial treatment already has a strong impact on the short-term, but also on the long-term course of the disease. This article will take a closer look at the acute treatment of elderly trauma patients in order to improve the care of this vulnerable patient group.

Der Sturz im Alter gewinnt nicht zuletzt aufgrund des demografischen Wandels auch in der Akut- und Notfallmedizin an Bedeutung. Durch physiologische Gegebenheiten und Komorbiditäten hat bereits die Initialbehandlung starke Auswirkungen auf den kurzfristigen, aber auch auf den langfristigen Krankheitsverlauf. In diesem Artikel soll die Akutbehandlung des betagten Traumapatienten näher beleuchtet werden, um die Versorgung dieser vulnerablen Patientengruppe zu verbessern.
