Angeborener Porto-phrenico-pulmonaler Shunt bei einer Katze

Zusammenfassung

Eine 8 Monate alte männlich-unkastrierte Heilige Birma mit rezidivierender Strangurie, Haematurie und intermittierendem Kopftremor wurde in unserer Klinik mit Verdacht eines Hepatoenzephalen Syndroms zur weiteren Diagnostik vorgestellt. Eine Computertomografie zeigte ein aus der Vena gastrica sinistra entspringendes Shuntgefäß, das sich sowohl mit der Vena phrenica sinistra als auch mit einem in das linke Atrium mündenden Lungengefäß verband. Dies ist der erste Fallbericht, der das radiologische Erscheinungsbild, den operativen Verschluss und den postoperativen Verlauf einer solchen Shuntform bei einer Katze beschreibt.

Abstract

An 8-month-old castrated male Birman showing hematuria, stranguria, and intermittend head tremor was presented for further diagnostic work-up on suspicion of hepato-encephalopathic syndrome. Computed tomography examination revealed a shunt vessel emanating from the vena gastrica sinistra which connected to both the vena phrenica sinistra and a pulmonary vessel from the left caudal lung lobe draining into the left atrium. This represents the first case report describing the radiologic appearance, surgical ligation as well as the post-operative outcome of a cat with such a shunt form.
