Amphetamine und Crystal Meth: Epidemiologie, Symptomatik und Therapie konsumassoziierter Störungen

Amphetaminkonsumstörungen, insbesondere im Zusammenhang mit dem substituierten Amphetaminderivat Methamphetamin („Crystal Meth“), treten im deutschsprachigen Raum zunehmend häufiger auf. Dieser Beitrag liefert eine aktuelle Übersicht zur Phänomenologie sowie zur Behandlung von Amphetaminkonsumstörungen. Darüber hinaus werden die Pharmakokinetik und -dynamik von Amphetamin und Methamphetamin detailliert besprochen.

Abstract

Amphetamine use disorders, particularly in connection with the substituted amphetamine derivative methamphetamine (“crystal meth”), are becoming increasingly common in German-speaking countries. This article provides an up-to-date overview of the phenomenology and treatment of amphetamine use disorders. In addition, the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of amphetamine and methamphetamine are discussed in detail.
