Den Kombinationstherapien gehört die Zukunft

Als Reaktion auf die Entwicklung von Resistenzen unter der Therapie mit Immuncheckpoint-Inhibitoren werden auch beim Ösophaguskarzinom unterschiedlichste Immun-Kombinationen untersucht. Gegenwärtig ist der Immuncheckpoint-Inhibitor Nivolumab der neue Standard beim lokal fortgeschrittenen oder metastasierten Plattenepithelkarzinom des Ösophagus, entweder in Kombination mit Ipilimumab oder mit einer Chemotherapie. Die zahlreichen auf der Jahrestagung der American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) präsentierten Kombinationsregime lassen für die kommenden Jahre aber eine Neudefinition möglicher Standardtherapien erwarten.
