Eine rein empirische Fallzahlbegrenzung pro Tag trägt das Risiko ungenügender Kapazitätsauslastung. Zur Führungsentscheidung bezüglich täglich durchzuführender Eingriffe kann die Methode der Queuing-Theorie herangezogen werden, um die Kapazitätsauslastung zu optimieren.
