Behandlung extremer maxillärer Retrognathien

Zusammenfassung

Extreme maxilläre Retrognathien die häufig eingebettet sind in eine Mittelgesichtshypoplasie stellen ganz besondere Herausforderungen an mögliche Therapieverfahren. Neben den eher seltenen syndromalen Formen der Hypoplasie (z.B. M. Crouzon) stellen die Retrognathien bei Patienten mit Lippen-Kiefer-Gaumenspalten (LKG) sicherlich die häufigste Gruppe dar.

Abstract

Severe maxillary retrognathia, which are often embedded in midfacial hypoplasia, poses special challenges to possible therapeutic procedures. Apart from the rather rare syndromic forms of hypoplasia (e.g. Crouzonʼs disease), retrognathies in patients with cleft lip and palate are certainly the most frequent group.
