Bei einem Sturz beim Fußballspielen zog sich der gesunde, damals 38 Jahre alte Patient eine skapholunäre (SL-) Bandläsion links zu. In Folge waren innerhalb von sieben Jahren insgesamt 13 operative Eingriffe nötig, bis eine vollständige Konsolidation der zuletzt angestrebten Skapho-Trapezio-Trapezoidal-(STT)-Arthrodese erreicht wurde. 5 Jahre nach der Verletzung auf der linken Seite kam es im Rahmen eines Distorsionstraumas rechts ebenfalls zu einer SL-Bandverletzung bei dem Patienten. Bei einem Stadium Geissler III wurde in einem auswärtigen Spital eine dynamische Stabilisierung mit einer ECRL-Sehnenplastik durchgeführt. Bei zunehmender SL-Dissoziation wurde aufgrund der Erfahrung mit der gleichen Problematik links schlussendlich eine Panarthrodese des rechten Handgelenkes vorgenommen.
