von Radionukliden sowie deren Verfügbarkeit.
Abstract
Theranostics – a blend made up of the elements „therapy“ and „diagnostics“ – aims
at the right therapy for the right patient at the right time. The article deals with
the basics of the theranostic principle based on the characteristics of the radionuclides
and their availability. Different types of theranostic radionuclide and radioligand
pairs are described using medical and chemical examples from the most prominent areas
of application in theranostics, which are prostate carcinoma, neuroendocrine tumours
and fibroblast activation protein inhibitors. Furthermore, the article explains the
regulatory framework conditions such as the availability and marketability of radionuclide
precursors and radioactive pharmaceuticals as well as their in-house production.
