ZUSAMMENFASSUNG

Viele kardiologische Erkrankungen sind altersassoziiert, das heißt, ihre Inzidenz und Prävalenz nimmt mit dem Alter zu. Neben den allgemeinen Grundlagen der kardiologischen Behandlung gibt es bei hochbetagten Patienten mit Diabetes mellitus klinische und therapeutische Besonderheiten, die im vorliegenden Artikel anhand der für die Altersmedizin besonders relevanten Krankheitsbilder – koronare Herzerkrankung (KHK) mit akutem Koronarsyndrom (ACS), arterielle Hypertonie und Vorhofflimmern (AF) – dargestellt werden sollen.
