Geburtshilfliche Fisteln – Relevanz für Hebammen in Deutschland

Dank moderner Geburtshilfe und Medizin können Fisteln als geburtshilfliche Komplikation heute vermieden bzw. chirurgisch saniert werden. Tausenden Frauen bleibt diese Versorgung jedoch versagt: Weltweit leiden mehr als eine Million unbehandelter Frauen und Mädchen unter den als traumatisch erlebten Folgen geburtsbedingter Fisteln wie Inkontinenz, Stigmatisierung und sozialer Ausgrenzung. Die Autorin vermittelt, warum geburtshilfliche Fisteln auch hierzulande ein relevantes Thema sind und was Hebammen für die Prävention wissen müssen.
