Mikronährstoffversorgung im Leistungssport

Teil 1: Auswirkung auf Muskelverletzungen, Infekte, Schlaf und Müdigkeit

Zusammenfassung

Vorgestellt wird eine aktuelle Studie zur Versorgung von Leistungssportlern mit Mikronährstoffen. Analysiert wurden dabei Wechselbeziehungen zwischen dem Nährstoffstatus und den Beschwerden Müdigkeit, Schlafstörungen, Infektanfälligkeit und Muskelverletzungen. Bei den 111 teilnehmenden Athleten verschiedener Sportarten zeigten sich teilweise gravierende Mängel an essenziellen Mikronährstoffen. Jugendliche Elitesportler sind mit Ausnahme von Folsäure schlechter versorgt als die Erwachsenen. Signifikant waren die Zusammenhänge zwischen der Versorgung mit Vitamin D, Coenzym Q10 und Vitamin B1mit der Häufigkeit muskulärer Verletzungen, während Auswirkungen auf Infekte, Schlafstörungen und Müdigkeit weniger deutlich waren.
