Background

Successful laser photocoagulation of pinguecula has been described in two case reports (Shin et al. [1] and Napoli et al. [2]), and an institutional series of 23 eyes by Ahn et al. [3]. The latter observed a clinically significant effect in 100% of all treated eyes (complete removal: 90.5%, partial removal: 9.5%). In the case described here, no effect could be observed when trying to remove the pinguecula by 532 nm diode laser photocoagulation.
