Eine chronisch entzündliche Darmerkrankung begleitet und beeinflusst die Betroffenen auf ihrem weiteren Lebensweg maßgeblich. Alle Symptome und therapeutische Maßnahmen sind von großer täglicher Bedeutung. Um die Lebensqualität zu erhalten, ist es wichtig, die Diagnose frühzeitig zu stellen, eine kompetente Behandlung in fachkundiger Hand durchzuführen und den Patienten umfänglich mit einzubeziehen, damit er auch jenseits des Kindes- und Jugendalters angemessen damit umgehen kann.

Kernaussagen
  • Chronisch entzündliche Darmerkrankungen nehmen in Industrieländern zu.

  • Sie werden hauptsächlich durch die beiden Hauptformen Morbus Crohn und Colitis ulcerosa repräsentiert.

  • Bei rezidivierenden abdominellen Beschwerden muss an eine chronisch entzündliche Darmerkrankung gedacht werden. Mit der Bestimmung des Calprotectins im Stuhl kann eine gute Abgrenzung zu funktionellen Bauchschmerzen erreicht werden.

  • Die Diagnose einer chronisch entzündlichen Darmerkrankung umfasst stets Laborwerte sowie sonografische und endoskopische Befunde.

  • Das Ziel der Therapie ist eine Remission mit einer Ernährungstherapie und/bzw. immunmodulierenden Medikamenten.

  • Die Behandlung muss über Jahre durchgeführt werden und ist multimodal.

  • Ein wichtiges Ziel ist die Erhaltung einer hohen Lebensqualität für den Patienten.
