Introduction

Intraneural ganglion cysts are a rare cause of peroneal neuropathy, can lead to severe motor deficits when undetected, and represent a potentially treatable cause of peripheral neuropathies [Bignotti et al. Muscle Nerve 2017; 55: 849–857; Aranyi et al. Clin Neurophysiol 2016; 127: 2500–2502]. We report the case of a subacute, painful peroneal nerve lesion due to an intraneural ganglion cyst, elucidate the disease pattern of intraneural ganglion cysts and illustrate the advantages of high-resolution ultrasound in the detection of peripheral nerve lesions.
