Einschätzung der Mundhygienefähigkeit von pflegebedürftigen Senioren

Die Einschätzung, ob pflegebedürftige Senioren selbstständig in der Lage sind, ihre Zähne und Prothesen ausreichend gründlich zu reinigen, oder wie viel Unterstützung sie benötigen, fällt Zahnärzten, Ärzten und Pflegenden nicht leicht. Dieser Beitrag zeigt, welche Beeinträchtigungen die Mundhygienefähigkeit beeinflussen und wie ein einfacher und schnell durchzuführender Test helfen kann, Patienten mit unzureichender Fähigkeit zur selbstständigen Zahn- und Prothesenpflege zu identifizieren.
