ABSTRACT

Objectives Digital transformation is changing sexuality and relationships in many ways, especially in the younger population.

Material and Methods Clinical observations from the practice of couple and sex therapy are presented in the context of current research results.

Results There is an increase in sexual dysfunction (erectile dysfunction, inhibition or absence of orgasm and partner-related listlessness), especially in young men. In addition, compulsive and addictive behaviors arise around pornography and sexuality and sexual deviations (paraphilia) increase.

Conclusions The problematic and early consumption of strong sexual stimuli (pornography, constantly changing sexual partners as well as powerful sex toys) causes new problems and clinical pictures deserving scientific studies. This is necessary to derive scientifically based preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic interdisciplinary measures.

Clinical Relevance In order to promote sexual health and satisfaction, new sexual disorders in the digital context must be identified in time and professionally diagnosed and treated.
