Jede Frau, die ein Kind erwartet, beschäftigt sich früher oder später damit, ob sie stillen möchte oder nicht. Die meisten Frauen entscheiden sich dafür. Doch es ist auch wichtig, wie lange Säuglinge gestillt werden. Viele gehen davon aus, dass eine längere Stilldauer positiven Einfluss auf die Bindungsqualität sowie auf die kognitive Entwicklung eines Kindes habe. Die Autorin ging dieser Frage in ihrer Diplomarbeit an der Universität Wien nach.
