Summary

Karies betrifft 98 % der Bevölkerung und ist gefolgt von Parodontitis die häufigste Ursache für Zahnschäden und -verluste. Die Aufnahme einfacher Kohlenhydrate führt zur Vermehrung säurebildender Bakterien und in diesem Zuge zu einer nachhaltigen Störung des schützenden Biofilms und Mundmikrobioms. Eine zuckerarme, mikronährstoffreiche Ernährung kann Zahnerkrankungen bereits innerhalb kurzer Zeit massiv reduzieren.
