Abstract
A child was born with the right side of her face and neck resting on her shoulder
and a large hemangioma involving the right side of the face, neck, and adjacent areas.
When seen at three years of age she could not turn her head to the right, the hemangioma
was a vivid orangish-red, the right neck was pulsatile and her right ear and right
half of her tongue were twice the normal size. Multiple embolizations after angiography
over the past three years obstructed 14 extra arteries of the external carotid artery,
an arteriovenous fistula and an aneurysm.
The remaining hemangioma will be destroyed by laser.
