Summary

Acne is traditionally treated by prescribing topical and oral medications. However, there are patients who do not want to use such medications, have contraindications to these medications, or see suboptimal results with these medications. Such patients may be good candidates for acne treatment with laser and light devices. A multitude of laser and light devices has been explored for their use in acne and herein we report on the dermatology literature of such devices as well as practical advice for employing this technology to treat acne patients.
