Summary

Skin tightening has become a common reason for patients to seek cosmetic treatment. In addition to intrinsic aging, many other environmental and physical stressors can negatively impact the skin’s structure and clinical appearance. Over time, levels of collagen and elastin in the skin can decrease as the skin loses its optimal architecture, which can manifest as fine lines, wrinkles, roughness, dullness, dryness, and laxity. Microneedling, radiofrequency microneedling, and other laser and energy-based modalities can be utilized to improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity.
